SPREADING WINGED BEAN (Paophocarpus tetragonolobus L. /DC/) OVER THE CROP PRODUCING AREAS OF THE PROVINCES OF SOUTH VIETNAM

Summary
Winged bean is a promising legume which is being introduced
in the crop producing areas of South Vietnam. The provinces regarded to be suitable
for winged bean growing are Ho Chi Minn, Song 84* Dong Nai, Tay Ming, and some
regions in the Mekong Delta. Growers interest is nigh but seed production is
unbale to meet the increasing demand* Consumption of ripe winged beans, as well
as whole pods, will allow to reduce the protein deficit in the food of people
in Vietnam.
