WINGED BEAN, Psophocarpus tetragonolobua (L.) DC., AS A VEGETABLE CROP IN THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM

Summary
In the basis of trials with the tropical legume, winged
bean, which were conducted in Vietnam, the authors assert that winged bean can
be grown with advantage as a vegetabel crop all over the territory of the country.
Fresh beans can be harvested even in periods of high temperatures and tropical
rain, when in fact no other vegetables are available. There is no other vegetable
crop to produce, apart from fruits, also edible leaves, shoots, buds and flowers,
all rich in vitamins, minerals and protein, and on top of thai, a fairly large
amount of root tubers.
