MICROTUBERIZATION AND COLO STORAGE OF POTATOES (SOLANUM TUBEROSUM L.)
P. Valíček, I, Nianu
Summary
Potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.) were studied for the
possibility of rapid propagation of selected potato material from internooal
cuttings and through induction of the formation of microtubers. Further tests
were conducted to verify the viability and growing capacity of potatoes after
a longer period of cold storage. Three cultivars were tested: Mexiko, Argentina,
Atzimba* In ail of them the microtuberization is successful in the case of media
containing 8 % of saccharose without BAP supplement. Formation of microtubers
was most successful in the Hexiko cv. whose second internodal cuttings were
grown on MS medium with 8% of saccharose with no BAP supplement.
