EXTRAORDINARILY LARGE NODULES IN THE WINGED BEAN
E. Hamatová
Summary
When three cultlvars of Psophocarpus tetragonolobus
of Vietnamese origin were inoculated with two strains of specific rhizobia,
the tested combinations produced the biggest nodules ever recorded in any leguminous
plant during our forty-year investigation: the maximum average weight of one
nodule was 1.20 g. In all cases there also was a high effectiveness of the rhizo-bia
with their respective hosts.
