THE.UTILIZATION OF LACTIFERM IN POULTRY NUTRITION

Summary
Two large comparative feeding trials with broiler
chickens were performed to study the effect of the use of Streptococcus faecium
M-74 on chicken growth rate, feed conversion, nutrient digestibility, and on
differences in the microbial colonization of the digestive tract. The fattening
period for the chickens was seven weeks, Commercially produced LACTIFERM showed
a positive effect on the rate fo growth and conversion of feed. Additions of
LACTIFFRM improved the taste and odour of the broiler meat. Positive effect
of probiotics was proved also by the results of balance experimets. On the basis
of the results, it is necessary to recommend the biological stimulator LACTIFERM
as an optimum stimulator for feed mixtures for broilers.
