AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY FOR MAIZE-GRAIN GROWING IN THE TROPICS AND SUBTROPICS
BOHUMIL HAVRLAND
Abstract
The agriculture misses a comprehensive document dealing
with technological solutions for individual agricultural crops and providing
basic technico-economic information about crop cultivation in existing technological
levels. The above mentioned lack lead to the attempt to carry out AGRICULTURAL
ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGICAL LEAFLETS (AETLs)* As the first the AETL for MAIZE-GRAIN
was worked out on the base of four technological levels that are: Full-scope
mechanized growingf Mechanized growing with a share of hand-tool operations,
Animal traction growing with a share of hand-tool operations,, Hand-tool growing,
as the most typical for agricultural regions of the Third World being the two
latest ones mentioned above. The AETL methodology supposed to execute detailed
analyses of all fixed technological levels with regard to the operations sequences
and working processes. The economics and vitality of individual levels were
expressed by reviewing the impacts of economic and exploation criteria? by putting-in
the cost calculation sheet and by calculating of costs p&r working' hour
as well as per hectare (in USD).
Key words:
