Abstract
Field evaluation was conducted at Badeggi during the
1990 and 1991 cropping seasons to evaluate sorghum varieties for their reactions
to Striga hermontica (Del.) Benth. All the screened materials were relatively
resistant to Striga but two varieties; ICSV 1001 BF and ICSV 1078 BF were found
to be immune to Striga infestation. The local check (Farafara) was found to
be tolerent.
