SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC BACKWARDNESS OF DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Abstract
The paper addresses developing countries' social and
economic underdevelopment, suggests the concept and categories of backwardness,
quantifies how developing countries currently lag behind world development,
shows the key causes (both internal and external),
highlights the key ways of how underdevelopment could be overcome, and characterises
the existing strategies of development.
