 Abstract
  Relationships among different biochemical parameters^
connected with the nitrogen metabolism and the nitrogen fertilization in the
  spinach crop were evaluated.
The parameters considered were: dry matter, total nitrogen, nitrate, aminoacids
content, nitrate reductase activity and yield.
Simple correlations were established. Homogeneity test between two or more correlation
coefficients was used in order to estimate a common coefficient within each
  year.
Yield was positive correlated with aminoacids and total nitrogen and showed
an increasing relation of nitrogen compounds in the diet with high yield.
Positive relationships were found between nitrate-total nitrogen and total nitrogen-dry
  matter production.
Nitrate reductase activity was not related with any of the parameterss evaluated
because of the influence of environmental, genetic and metabolic factors.
 Key words:
  correlation - fertilization - nitrogen - spinach.
