Abstract
Six genotypes of Amaranth (Amaranthus) cultivated in Prague-Suchdol in 2000
-2001 were evaluated. Both vegetable and seed species were included. The nitrate
content and oxalic acid content in the above-ground biomass was determined.
Higher storage of these substances in the course of fertilization was proved.
The genotypes with the highest amount of nitrate contained also a high amount
of oxalic acid. Examined samples differed significantly in the content of these
substances.
