Abstract
Contents of arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, mercury, manganese, nickel, lead, and zinc were determined in selected samples of green and/or roasted coffee beans, tea leaves and tea liquors. The results obtained were compared with hygienic limits given by ordinances of Ministry of Health No. 298/1997 and 323/1999. Copper content was found near to permissible quantity (PQ) in one from 17 analyzed samples of coffee beans. Content of lead was higher than PQ in one from 20 samples of tea, and Ni content was not very far from PQ in two samples. In case of tea liquors prepared from tea samples mentioned, all analyzed samples fulfilled requirements of ordinance No. 323/1999.
