Abstract
In the Czech Republic an antelope breeding for meat production is enabled by the law and there are also good nourishment, veterinary and economic conditions for this agriculture production. However the existing breeding technology must be adapted. According to our model a breeder should invest 2,636,910 CZE in the first year. It covers a pur chase of a basic herd for breeding, rebuilding of a stall and fencing of a pasture. The life of investment (i.e. basic herd) is ten years and the breeder can reach net profit 763,431 CZK a year under good breeding conditions. The maturity of this investment is 10 years and the net present value of this investment is 1,301,196 CZK. It means that the economic return of the initial investment is in the 10 year. The breeder has to finance the investment and operating costs during nine years. The evaluation proved that the investment profitable and effective. The most suitable antelope for farm breeding is Common Eland (Taurotragus oryx)
