POSSIBILITIES OF UTILIZATION OF MARES' MILK

Abstract
The aim of our observation was to create the most
suitable culture for koumiss production and the effects of this product to test
on patients affected with tuberculosis.
Ten mares at the age of 15 - 17 years foaled in the range of 1 months were included
into this experiment. Two basic koumiss mixed cultures classed as mixture A
and B were formed and their safety "was proved by the laboratory tests.
The effect of koumiss were tested in 5 patients with Tbfor the period of 5 weeks
when the patients consumed up to 250ml koumiss daily in addition to antituberculotic
drugs.
No side effects were found in patients during consumption of koumiss, on contrary
their namely psychic condition improved as well as the general treatment. We
recommend that this problem should be solved more in detail, as it could help
both the horse breeders and Tb patients.
