ANIMAL DISEASES INTRODUCTION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES THROUGH INTERNATIONAL TRADE

Abstract
International import in developing countries during
1980-2000 caused introduction of many animal diseases. The number of officially
reported 573 cases of diseases introduction in developing countries through
trade represented 72.34 % of all 792 reported cases in the -world. From developing
countries were reported: 108 cases ofOIEListA diseases, i.e. 79,41 % of all
136 cases, 331 cases ofOIEListB diseases, i.e. 67.83 % of all 488 cases and
134 cases of other diseases, i.e. 79.76 of all 168 cases in the world. Developing
countries reported 373 cases of animal disease recognized for the first time,
which represented 76.59 % of all 487 cases. These countries reported also 63.42
% of total 339 cases of diseases reintroduction through trade in the whole world.
