Abstract
The objective of research was to find out the influence of
aeration on compost maturity. The importance of increasing compost stabilization
consists on effective carbon sequestration in the soil. The experiments were
realized in fermenters of 50 liters with two different raw material compost
compositions including different aeration levels. It was found, that increased
aeration has influence on higher compost maturity only in the case of compost
with optimum Carbon/Nitrogen ratio (C:N = approx. 30:1).
